Seven Monroe Rotarians joined about 200 others from District 6400 at the spring District Assembly at Schoolcraft College on Saturday, April 2, 2011.

District Assembly is designed to be the initial officer training for club Presidents Nominee, for incoming Rotary Year officers and committee chairs (in this case for those being sworn in for the 2011-2012 Rotary Year) and as continued training for Presidents Elect.

Monroe "elect" officers attending included President Elect John Betrus, President Nominee Michael Thomas, Secretary Elect Donna Bruck and Treasurer Elect Patty Thompson. 

Committee appointees attending included Dr. Busharat Ahmad, 2011-2012 overall Service Projects Chair; Susan Mehregan, who will be involved in our International Service and Interact committees in addition to her ADG responsibilities; and Tom Allen, who will be an active leader in Membership and well as leading our Stepping Stones project.

Assembly sessions included Public Speaking, training on the new DaCdb district communications tool, Treasurer Training, Secretary Training, Public Relations workshops, Creating Rotary Awareness sessions, Social Media overviews, Service Project Success Stories, Rotary Foundation sessions, Youth Exchange updates, Weekly Meeting Tips and Rotary Membership recruitment and retention sessions.  BUSY!!
