ROTARY BRINGS SMILES AT BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
MONROE, MICHIGAN –Approximately 250 children and parents enjoyed a hearty breakfast, games, crafts and of course a visit with Santa at the ninth-annual Monroe Rotary "Breakfast with Santa" on Saturday morning at Hollywood Elementary.
Arriving early in the morning, trays of scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, fruit cups, juice and milk were prepared by Monroe Rotarians, with help from 17 students from the Monroe High School and St. Mary's Catholic Central Interact Clubs – the high school affiliate of Rotary. Kitchen operations were ably managed by Hollywood cafeteria supervisor Kathy Mink.
"It's a joy to be able to host this event," said Rotary event chairman Dave Bagnall. "Monroe Rotary and our high school Interact students look forward to this activity every year. In addition to a full breakfast for everyone, we have presents for the kids, loads of crafting activities, face painting, and of course a visit from Santa. Everyone has a smile on their face."
The presents, crafts and food are paid for through funds made at Rotary fundraisers, and business and individual donations. Hollywood School has been the host facility for the past several years.
