Meet Fernanda
The Rotary Club of Leamington annually supports the Rotary Youth Exchange program. Through Youth Exchange, students learn firsthand about all aspects of life in another country.
This program allows students from other countries the opportunity to travel to a country of their choice to meet people and experience new cultures. Fernanda arrived September 3rd, 2017 from Santo Antonio de Jesus, Bahia, Brazil.
Currently, Fernanda is attending Leamington District Secondary School until June. The program offers numerous benefits to its participants-one is learning English since the native language in Brazil is Portuguese. Immersion in another country’s educational system enhances their academic and personal growth.
Fernanda provided an informative presentation to the Leamington Rotary Club. In her brief presentation, complimented with slides, she talked about her country, the city where she lives, and told the group about her future goals and ambitions.
Host Rotary clubs, families and the entire community are enriched by extended, friendly contact with someone from a different culture.
