I recently sent the note below to members of the club.  If you are still looking for a local charity to share your stimulus funds the Salvation Army has an on-line Red Kettle  https://give.salvationarmy.org/team/295493 )
I hope all are well during this Coronavirus crisis.

Some of us may have received a direct deposit from the IRS from the recent stimulus package passed by congress of up to $1,200 or $2,400 if married.  The stimulus package was partially designed to assist those who may have lost employment due to the Coronavirus situation.  Those of us who are retired have not lost employment during this crisis.  If you are in this situation please consider the following:

I would like to suggest that for those who can afford to do so, they donate at least part of their stimulus to: a local charity, a Soup Kitchen, the Salvation Army, the Boys & Girls Club or their place of worship.  All these places have suffered a decrease in donations as a result of people being out of work, or not being able to hold religious services and they could use the financial help.

No pressure.

Thank you for your consideration.

Be safe,

President – Bill Reilly
