Nicole McClain is a wife, mother, veteran, and lifelong resident of Lynn, deeply rooted in service
to both her country and her community. She proudly served 11 years in the U.S. Army National
Guard, including two deployments to Iraq in 2004 and 2008—an experience that shaped her
lifelong commitment to leadership, resilience, and advocacy.
A dedicated community leader and entrepreneur, Nicole owned and operated Rising Stars
Childcare Service for six years, providing high-quality early education and support to families
across Lynn. In 2024, she made history as the first Black woman elected to office in the city and
now serves as a Councilor At Large, where she champions equity, education, economic
opportunity, and civic engagement.
Nicole is the Founder and President of the North Shore Juneteenth Association, a nonprofit
committed to honoring the legacy of Juneteenth while advancing racial equity through education,
cultural celebration, and community connection. Under her leadership, the organization has
grown into a respected regional force, building meaningful partnerships and hosting impactful
events that bring people together in unity and purpose.
A lifelong learner, Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Education and a master’s degree in
Educational Leadership and Policy from Boston College. Through her professional work in youth
development, she has supported young people in gaining the skills, confidence, and access
needed to thrive in their educational and career journeys.
