Thank you to our
High School Musicians who serenaded our Rotarians
during our Holiday Meeting.
On Thursday January 16th 2025, about 20 members of the combined
Lynn Schools Band played for the Lynn Rotary Club.
The Band was conducted by Mr. Gil Lapoint, the high school music Teacher for all public high schools in Lynn. For a band that only has one combined rehearsal for two hours a week, they put on an amazing performance. Mr. Lapoint was grateful that the Rotary Club invited the Band to perform, as they do not have many opportunities to perform in front of the general public at a non-school event.
They could play some pieces which they don’t normally play in public.
The performance was originally scheduled for mid-December and as such they played some traditional holiday songs and a few more jazzy pieces.
The high schools represented were English, Classical, Lynn Tech and Frederick Douglas Academy.
