This month our club had our in-person monthly meeting to celebrate the New Year.
During this celebration, we witnessed young students bravely setting down their phones and stepping into the disciplined, imaginative world of musical artistry, stretching their minds and hearts with every note. When we become their audience, we don’t just hear music, we share in their growth, and leave inspired ourselves.
The members of the Classical Highschool Band serenaded us with their talent. The majority of the students have been training since the 4th grade. These accomplishments could not have been achieved without the dedication of the Lynn Public’s Schools efforts to make music a priority in their budget and educational pedagogy. These artists, under the director of the Lynn Music department, played 4 musical pieces. Our club members were able to ask questions to the students and learn about their musical journey. After their performance, the students joined our club members for dinner.
I’m truly grateful to everyone who joined us and shared in the excitement for the meaningful events our Lynn Rotary Club brings to both our members and our community.
