Community Service - Graffiti Removal
The Rotary Club of Turramurra, part of Rotary District 9685, in northern Sydney, New South Wales, started the Graffiti Project back before 2011.
Their Graffiti Project Team Leader, Roger Norman, has come to the Rotary Club of St Ives a number of times to brief us on the status and progress of the Graffiti Project and how Ku-ring-gai Council is now involved.
The Graffiti Project has become a District 9685 Project, and more Rotary Clubs in District 9685 have taken on the mantle of Graffiti Removalists over the years.
Our Club is in active training mode, with the aim of setting up a graffiti removal team in the Club.
St Ives is also actively involved in the annual Graffiti Removal Days, as set up by the state and local government entities.

The New South Wales Government has recognised the impact of Graffiti in the state, and is committed to reducing the incidence of graffiti vandalism by encouraging local communities to get involved in the removal and prevention of graffiti. To support this goal the Government has established a State wide graffiti removal and prevention day known as “Graffiti Removal Day”.
