St Ives Food, Wine and Lifestyle Festival

to be held at the St Ives Village Green

Sunday 1 March 2015 ( 10 am to 4 pm )

This exciting event will be a fun day for all the family and will raise funds for several worthwhile charitable organisations. We expect

about 10,000 visitors to this event.

We plan to have about 60 food and wine companies and lifestyle boutiques. There will be entertainment including rides and face painting for the children and school bands.

We are inviting a variety of food stalls offering Malaysian, Turkish, German, Mexican, Indian and Mediterranean food, cheeses, pasta, gelato, cakes, pizza, paella, olive oils, chutneys and jams.

Leading vineyards from the Hunter, Mudgee and Orange will be invited as will boutiques offering books, clothing, toys, cosmetics and many specialty products.

The objective is to raise funds for the Rotary Club of St Ives to support a number of charitable organisations including the highly regarded international organisation “Room to Read” which promotes education for children in developing countries in Asia and Africa.

Room to Read was established by John Wood in 2002. It has already established over 16,000 libraries and 1,600 schools in 10 in countries including Vietnam, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Laos and Cambodia .

It has published more than 800 books in 27 local languages.

The festival is being extensively marketed. There is a dedicated website and Facebook page. Rotary is promoting and advertising the event through newspapers, all Rotary clubs, the Ku-ring-gai Council, schools, golf, tennis and bridge clubs.
