May 10th Presentation with the Terra Centre

On Tuesday, May 10, we welcomed two very special guests from the Terra Centre: Executive Director Karen Mottershead and Donna Ma, Fund Development and Donor Stewardship.
 
Terra Centre helps pregnant and parenting teens to develop self-reliance and skills to become successful parents.
 
The programs they offer include leadership, child care, clothing and essentials, group support programs, family outreach, housing and a unique program for young dads.
 
 
 
Their program for young fathers is unique to our region:
 
We serve approximately 50 young fathers and their children each year and work with them to achieve their goals.

SOME THINGS WE ASSIST YOUNG DADS WITH ARE:
 
  • Employment searches
  • Schooling
  • Applying for sources of funding
  • Meeting basic needs
  • Legal assistance
  • Finding and using other community programs
