On Tuesday March 3rd we had our very own Karen Foss give her Who's Who? talk. This was an opportunity for Karen to tell the club about about herself, her career, and what brought her to Rotary. We were so interested to learn about Karen's role as a nurse practitioner in the area of neonatal intensive care and to find out about her fascinating research into addition and the effect of opioids and other drugs on pregnant women and pre-term babies. Thank you for the engaging presentation Karen! The work you do is so important and we are lucky to have you as a member of our club.

We Did It! - Successful Fundraiser for Edmonton Ronald McDonald House
WE DID IT!!! The Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue loves doing hands-on volunteering. Making meals for the families in the Edmonton RMH is one of our favourite volunteer activities. With COVID-19 restrictions, we couldn't volunteer in person, so we put out the call to raise funds that we would have put toward making meals for the house this year. When we volunteer in person it would have cost our club approximately $250 for the food to make a meal for the house. Our goal was to fundraise enough to cover the cost of two meals - $500 - and we did it!
Although we have reached our goal, the team fundraiser is open until the end of June and you can still donate by clicking the link below and making a donation. Tax receipts will be provided for donations over $20.

Through Rotary’s SHARE system, Rotary districts share in the decision-making process by choosing which Rotary Foundation programs they wish to participate in and support. The SHARE system is the mechanism by which Rotary Foundation funding is distributed worldwide.
Through the SHARE system, contributions to The Rotary Foundation are transformed into both District Designated Funds (DDF) — the funds your district can allocate — and to the World Fund — the funds the Trustees allocate. By giving to either Annual Fund-SHARE or Endowment Fund-SHARE we support both local and international efforts.
