It is hard to believe that 2017 is upon us! In 2016, there were many ups and downs yet the true kindness of so many truly came to the forefront. As life brings us challenges, working together, we can truly make a difference - one life at at time, one day at a time, one project at a time!

 

This past year saw our economy change dramatically which had a huge impact on so many both personally and professionally. We were all impacted by the fire in Fort McMurray. Some of our community partners, who depend upon donations and the generosity of so many, felt the economic downturn in ways that were passed on to those who needed help the most. Despite this, Albertans, Rotarians and those who could help, DID! We saw kindness in so many ways; people opened their homes to those who needed it the most, meals were provided, new relationships were developed and so much more.

December was a very busy month for our club, our friends and Rotaractors! Together, in addition to the many other activities going on, we were able to support the Neighbor Centre and their annual Christmas dinner on Thursday, December 15 at Old Strathcona Baptist Church.

 

Thank you to all who donated food and beverage items and to those who time out of their very busy holiday season to share this meal, along with their time and talents, to make this Christmas dinner very special for those who need it the most.
