Whyte Knight Award - Kathy Strobl

Rotary is founded upon the foundation of "SERVICE ABOVE SELF". Our FUN FEARLESS & FOCUSED Rotary Club has members who truly exemplify this heart for service in all that they do.

In order to recognize members for their hard work and dedication to Rotary and serving others, our club has created the Whyte Knight Award for Exemplary Service Above Self to our Club and Community.

This award is chosen by members for members.

On February 7th, past recipient Kristin Jennings had the distinct honor to present the Whyte Knight Award to our Foundation Chair and President Elect Kathy Strobl.

Kathy is a charter member of the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue. She is described as confident, kind, loyal and respectful of herself and others. In May of 2014, Kathy was co-chair of the first annual "She's All That - A Celebration of Women in Rotary". In the fall of 2014, the District sponsored Kathy as a Future Rotary Leader to attend the Future Rotary Workshop at the Zone Institute in Cherry Hill, NJ. Past District Governor Betty Screpnek reaching out to Kathy and the Whyte Avenue Club to support her and the Glenora Club to play a key role in planning her District Conference in the same year. Presently, along with her very important roles in our club, Kathy is the secretary of the District Foundation Committee and treasurer of the District's Charitable Foundation.

Congratulations Kathy on being awarded the Whyte Knight Award for your exemplary service in all that you do!

Fork It Over 2017

On Friday, February 10, our FUN FEARLESS & FOCUSED Rotary club partnered with the Mayfield Club to raise funds at this very fun event!

Thank you all who participated, donated, spent their hard earned funds on the many live and silent auction items, volunteered and truly made this event a success.

Watch for updates on how much was raised and the many projects our club will support!

Whyte Avenue Annual Ski Trip 2017

On March 24 to 25, our FUN FEARLESS & FOCUSED Rotary club will be heading to Jasper for our annual ski trip!

There is so much to do in Jasper and we invite you to join us!

Many are staying at the Crimson Hotel in Jasper however hotels are booking up fast so don't miss YOUR chance to join us.

We will each be doing our favorite activities throughout the weekend and getting together on Saturday night for pizza and FUN! Watch for updates!

Walking "with" instead of "for" with the Neighbour Centre!

The Neighbour Centre is hosting a walk-a-thon on Saturday, February 25, 2017, to raise money to help fight homelessness.

The Neighbour Centre has been a great community partner with the Rotary Club of Whyte Avenue, so we want to spread awareness of this walk-a-thon to see if any Rotarians or friends would like to join in and support the Neighbour Centre!

The Neighbour Centre, with thousands of Canadians across the country, will be walking in the Coldest Night of the Year, raising much-needed funds for local charities who support and serve the hungry, homeless, and hurting.

Fundraisers like this one support the Neighbour Centre pay for basic services.

Where: Knox Evangelical Free Church, 8403 - 104 Street
When: February 25, 2017
What time: Registration begins at 4PM, the walk begins at approx. 5PM and ends at around 8PM.
