A motion was presented to the Whyte Avenue Rotary Club on the nomination of Elyssa Teslyk for membership into the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue.

 

Elyssa has been nominated by Terry Kirkland from the Mayfield Club.

 

Her bio is below.

 

Elyssa Teslyk is from Edmonton but has extended family in Grande Prairie, BC, Ontario and Sweden.

 

Her immediate family includes a grandfather, mother and three sisters.

 

She is completing the final year of her business undergraduate at NAIT to provide a foundation for further education in Law at the University of Alberta.

 

She is very involved in community organizations such as John Humphrey Center for Peace and Human Rights: Peace builders and the City of Edmonton Youth Council.  

 

She was referred to Rotary and did research both online and from public feedback and feels it is a positive match of her skills and knowledge of youth challenges to what Rotary does and represents.

 

In accordance with our club bylaws (see 3.2.5 below), please indicate within seven days (7), by return email to the Club Secretary, Stan Kodric, if you have any knowledge that Elyssa does not meet the Rotary Four-Way Test and you object to the admission of her as new member, or if you require additional information regarding this candidate.
 
3.2.5 If the Board does not receive a written objection from a Member in Good Standing to the admission of the prospective Active Member, stating the reasons for such objection, within seven (7) days following the publication of information about the prospective Active Member pursuant to section 3.2.4, the prospective Active Member shall be considered to be elected to membership.
