The session shares practical tips, ideas and resources from Rotary International that will assist you in your current and future Rotary roles. The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) was created as a grass roots initiative to help Rotarians build their leadership skills, both in their professional lives and as Rotarians.
This fall, our members participated in RLI Me and Rotary that focused on club projects, future planning and brain storming for our future.

November is a time that Rotary focuses on the Rotary Foundation; members are encouraged to consider donating, projects funded by grants of all kinds are featured and we celebrate the change we are making in our communities.
On Tuesday, Dr. Thomas Gredanius came and spoke to us about his Ecuador Medical - Dental Mission. Dental work was done along with hip and knee replacements. This VTT team and international project were made possible by a Global Grant from the Rotary Foundation.
These surgeries are life changing for many; they are no longer bound to wheelchairs, women are able to look after their families and be contributing members of society, children are able to grow without pain and suffering. Truly, projects and the generosity of many make the world a better place.

One of our most important club projects is offering post-secondary scholarships to youth. We were pleased to meet and congratulate Josie on her scholarship and her success!
Our club was successful in receiving a matching grant from the Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation. Our community project has been supporting the Neighbor Centre dinner club. Once a week, for 8 weeks, our club prepares and enjoys a meal with 25 participants in Old Strathcona.
This program has been a great success and we look forward to working with the Neighbor Centre in the future.
