There's no more exciting way to help in the fight against polio than cheering on our hometown hockey heroes.

Your $29 ticket gets you access to the pre-game mixer from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, plus great seats to see the Oil Kings take on the Swift Current Broncos at Roger's Place.

$11.00 from each ticket sold goes toward the End Polio Now campaign, with all funds raised matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

U of A Rotaract Presents Project Water!

Help support the University of Alberta Rotaract Club's Rotaraction for Change: Project Water!

All funds raised from this event will go towards the construction of a water well to increase access to safe, clean drinking water in the Nicaraguan village of La Caretta, in addition to funding University scholarships for Nicaraguan youth.

Rotaraction for Change: Project Water will take place on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at the Edmonton Public School Archives and Museum, 10425 99 Ave, from 7:00-9:30pm, with water awareness activities, live entertainment, appetizers, a cash bar, and silent auction and raffle.

Change A Life with R.E.P.

Learn how you can help create the connections that change someone's life.

Be sure to attend our February 27th meeting, when fellow Rotarian Wendy McDonald and our very own Paige Reeves will be speaking about the Rotary Employment Partnership (REP).

REP finds productive jobs for persons with developmental disabilities, while providing employers with access to a largely untapped pool of quality candidates. It's the kind of win-win that we all look for, and all it takes is you and the Rotary Employment Partnership.

Advanced Care Planning

Kristin Jennings and Kathy Strobl were kind enough to share their expertise in something that every one of us should be mindful of; Advanced Care Planning.

Starting a conversation around what happens if we become incapacitated isn't comfortable, but it is important.

Decisions regarding Personal Care Directives and Enduring Power of Attorney, two critical documents for advanced care planning, are best made ahead of time, rather than in the emotionally-charged circumstances around the decline of a loved one.

Both Kristin, a Registered Nurse working in palliative care, and Kathy, a Certified Financial Planner and Trust and Estate Practitioner, counsel that now is the time to talk about how we want to be cared for, and how we are expected to help care for others, in the event of a catastrophic change in health or capacity.
