A motion was presented to the Whyte Avenue Rotary Club on the nomination of Izabella Orzelski–Konikowski for membership into the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue.
She has been nominated by Eli Schrader.
Her bio is below.
.jpg) Izabella Orzelski–Konikowski was born in Poland. She immigrated to Canada years ago where she met her future husband Bogdan. She and Bogdan have three wonderful children age 16, 15 and 14. Izabella holds an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a Ph.D. in education from the University of Alberta. Among her commissioned works is the life-size portrait of Dr. Harriet Winspear, the late Honourable Lois E. Hole, former Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, and of Dr. Grant MacEwan. In collaboration with her husband, fellow- artist, she has created a number of portrait series that were exhibited across Canada. Izabella has been an art instructor at the Faculty of Extension of the University of Alberta for the past 16 years. Additionally, she enjoys working as an art teacher for the Edmonton Public School District (Old Scona, where she is also working with the newly chartered Interact club). She has presented at several Teacher’s Conventions across Alberta, as well as been invited as a guest speaker to many international conferences. Izabella strongly believes that is possible to be both: a passionate educator and an excellent artist.
In accordance with our club bylaws (see 3.2.5 below), please indicate within seven days (7), by return email to the Club Secretary, Stan Kodric, if you have any knowledge that Izabella does not meet the Rotary Four-Way Test and you object to the admission of her as new member, or if you require additional information regarding this candidate.
3.2.5 If the Board does not receive a written objection from a Member in Good Standing to the admission of the prospective Active Member, stating the reasons for such objection, within seven (7) days following the publication of information about the prospective Active Member pursuant to section 3.2.4, the prospective Active Member shall be considered to be elected to membership.
Thank you very much; I appreciate your timely consideration of the proposed membership.
