On Tuesday, December 13, District Governor Laura Morie came to visit our club. Each year, the District Governor visits each club in the District. During that time, she also meets with the Leadership Team prior to the club visit. Our club was the last on her club tour for District 5370 and we are so grateful to her for her dedication and passion for Rotary. In total, she has been part of over 120 club meetings and visits since July 1!

District Governor Laura spoke to us about the important of Rotary, youth being our future, the need for clubs to be flexible, some unique growth strategies and the importance of the Rotary Foundation; this 100 year old organization is the financial fuel that drives Rotary. This year, the Rotary Foundation is celebrating its Centennial. It all started with a donation of $26.50 and since then, it has handled billions of dollars and truly made the world a better place.

In recognition and celebration of our District Governor visit, it was CRAZY CHRISTMAS ATTIRED DAY! In the true spirit of FUN, our members found creative ways to be festive!

Congratulations to Stan Kodric for being the most creative in his Shamrock Green Edmonton Oiler Jersey.

Marilyn Mucha and Kat Lahola won for most festive - Marilyn had earrings made from ornaments on her Christmas tree and Kat wrapped herself in colourful Christmas streamers. Kristin Jennings and Paige Reeves won for most colourful and runners up included Eli Schrader with that fabulous vest, Kathy Strobl for those gold tights, Kevin McLeod and his Christmas stocking for his collection of donations, guest Elyssa and member Roxann for their great hats Scott Young for the candy canes which he so generously shared!

Marilyn Mucha generously donated two beautiful white poinsettias to be auctioned off in order to raise dollars for our Annual Fund goal! Thanks to the support of our generous members, we raised $75 towards our Annual Fund goal!
