This past Tuesday, Rotary Whyte Avenue was joined by Fawnda Mithrush from the Alberta Podcast Network to talk about the Network's efforts to bring more local podcasts to Alberta.

Fawnda explained podcasting in Alberta and how the Alberta Podcast Network got started. Fawnda gave examples of some of her past and current work as a podcast producer, including her very own podcast called 'I Don't Get It,' which offers a critical perspective on performances of all kinds happening in Edmonton and beyond as well as her work on 'A Tale of Two Weeklies,' a podcast about two alt-weekly newspapers and how they battled it out for supremacy on the streets of Edmonton.

She explained how it is important to have a strong narrative and a story to tell for a podcast to be successful. She also described the great diversity of podcasts out there, including one of her favourites on pens and stationary!

Our questions and answer period revealed a lot of podcast fans in the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue on everything from marketing to politics!

Thanks to Fawnda for coming to speak to our club and for everyone who joined us online!
