Wow --- last minute things can turn into $$ in a hurry. Friday March 8, District Governor Ingrid Neitsch got a call from the Edmonton Oilers Group with a cancellation of volunteers to sell "Chuck a Pucks" at the Oil Kings game this past Sunday. She texts Marilyn while at District Spring training to see if our club can come up with 10 volunteers for 2 pm Sunday. Marilyn said " YES", all the while wondering who she could call on such short notice.

Rotarians to the rescue! Sending out URGENT texts to President Scott Young first and then to those attending the training and then to a wider net of Passport Club member prospects, family, and neighbours .... alas we got a team together!

Our job was to sell foam pucks that were thrown onto the hockey rink ice after the game with the one closest to the center to win $250. The sellers get to keep all the sales (less the $250 prize money) - and we did our job and earned $2,000. What a great win!

A HUGE thank you goes out to the super team of Scott Young, Michelle Young, Mike Brandingen, Lois Boxall, Terry Mucha, Tim Lynn, Sam Lilly, Markus Muhs, Michael Dennehy and Gord Sheppard. Whyte Ave Rotarians and Passport Club prospective members were a joy to work with.

NOT DONE YET: But there is a catch (of course!). We had to buy 75 game tickets to either yesterday's game or the last home game next Saturday, March 16th @ 2 pm.

YES we had to BUY them. So please consider finding fans and families that would love to see Edmonton knock the socks off the Calgary Hitmen and enjoy some great fun, including the hip hop dance group Cool Giraffe performing. Only $20 each!
