Dear $NICK_NAME$,

A motion was presented to the Whyte Avenue Rotary Club Executive Board on the nomination of Karen Foss for membership in the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue. Karen Foss has been nominated by Marilyn Mucha under the classification of Nurse Practioner - Women's and Child Health.

Please indicate within seven days (7), by email to the Club Secretary, Mike Greaney, if you have any knowledge that prospective member, Karen Foss, does not meet the Rotary Four-Way Test and you object to the admission as a new member or if you require additional information regarding this candidate.

Bio

Karen grew up in a small central Alberta town but Edmonton has provided the setting for her home, work, and education since her late teens. A nurse by profession for more than 30 years, she has worked in Neonatal Intensive care.  She is the mother of two dynamic women in their 20s that have chosen health-related professions. Aside from Karen’s undergraduate and graduate education in nursing, she also has graduate degrees in Educational Policy Studies – adult education focus.

Karen has become more aware of health literacy, marginalization, diversity, and social responsibility.  With her exposure to the Whyte Ave Rotary club, she says she has witnessed how our like-minded, energetic members are friends; together taking action to support healthier communities both locally and globally.

Karen has participated in the Skills Society – Making meals twice and visited our club meetings in person and online.

Thank you,

Kathy Strobl
