On February 12th Meena Deccan gave a compelling talk on the topic of Honour Based Violence.  Her presentation challenged many of the prevailing perceptions surrounding this phenomenon and laid out why conventional social services and law enforcement guidelines may be ineffective in breaking the escalating pattern of emotional and physical abuse involved.
While not claiming to have all the answers Meena makes a strong argument for questioning the effectiveness of Canada's current intervention tactics.  She wants to spark this discussion and is open to bringing her thought-provoking presentation to any Rotary Club that would be interested.
