March 19 - Freddy Damani YESS

Freddy is the current Communications and Emerging Media Coordinator with Youth Empowerment & Support Services (YESS). Edmontonians started YESS in 1981 in an abandoned fire hall. Today, cities such as Jacksonville FL and Mexico City model their programs for youth at risk on the programs at the Armoury. Unfortunately, recent funding shortfalls have meant that the Armoury has had to decrease its hours of operation. YESS has brought in more marketing and fundraising professionals and hopes to get the word out about their programs and the difference they are making for local youth in order to meet funding requirements. We look forward to partnering with YESS on the next Hockey Night on Whyte this fall, and to create new ways in which we can work together to serve youth.
