Be a Part of the 7th Annual Hockey Night on Whyte
Dear Rotarians and Friends,
The Rotary Club of Whyte Avenue is hosting our 7th annual Hockey Night on Whyte Saturday September 23rd at the YESS Amory. There will be a BBQ, live performers, the CommuniTEA truck from the Skills Society, and of course, a street hockey tournament! The event as a way to engage with youth from the Old Strathcona community and has now grown to provide support for our youth programs. We will be collecting cash donations, Shoppers Optimum points, and necessities including shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps, deodorant, socks, bug-spray, and feminine hygiene products. For a full list of items and exclusions please see the YESS website. To donate Shoppers Optimum points towards these products please contact club secretary Lauren at lmemery@ualberta.ca.
There is still time to register a team or participate as a sponsor for the event! Hockey teams require a minimum of 4 people, but we highly recommend 8-10 players per team. Individual players can also sign up and all equipment is provided. Sponsorship opportunities are available at 3 levels (including buying and naming a team) and donating prizes and raffle items are always welcome. For more information about sponsorship opportunities please contact the event coordinator Tim at tim.onciul@silvacom.com or check out the event on our club website. Please join us for this fun, fearless, community-focused event!
