We welcomed Amy Smith to our meeting on October 17 as she presented our club with a traditional gift of tobacco and a dream catcher she made specifically for Rotary Club of Whyte Avenue to express her appreciation for our club's financial support in helping her qualify for a global grant scholarship. Our club is one of several in the District to support her studies over the next two years as she works toward a Master of Development Practive (MDP) at University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. As a Métis woman she is passionate about Indigenous community development work and is an active Rotaractor and charter President of the Calmar Interact Club during high school. Congratulations, Amy. We wish you the best and look forward to seeing you again when you return from Australia!
