August 28th meeting - Speakers from City of Edmonton Community Service

 Youth programs manager Julie Elford and her team presented what the City of Edmonton makes available to the communities that request it in terms of youth recreation, sports and leadership. Volunteer service program coordinator Shannon Meyer introduced the Community Heros initiative aimed at empowering youth through volunteering opportunities. This presentation provided our club with valuable information and resources to enhance our community service projects serving the youth at risk in Old Stratchona.
