Officer Grinwald has served more than five-years as a police oficer on the police department. She is one of the police department's top Evidence Technicians and Bicycle Officers.

"All of her supervisors and fellow workers can count on Officer Grinwald to lend a helping hand," says Kenneth Meuler, West Bend Police Chief. "She is often the first officer to respond to the call of help by an officer on the street, is willing to relieve a dispatcher and if she is walking through the record section and sees a citizen waiting for help, she will stop and help. Brenda truly understands and delivers customer service."

Beginning her career as a Clerk in the records section of the department, she earned the necessary credentials to become an officer. She received her Criminal Justice degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and completed the State of Wisconsin's Basic Recruit School at the Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Grinwald has been recognized for her outstanding work numerous times during her career including the Life Saving Award for saving a man who nearly drowned in the Milwaukee River. She was also acknowledged for her outstanding efforts during the search and arrest of an armed robbery suspect in downtown West Bend.

Her many civic duties include participating in the "Wheelin' Wizards" charity basketball game, Special Olympics Bagging for Bucks, Boys and Girls Club charity basketball game, Shop with a Cop and the American Cancer Relay for Life.

"She has been an exemplary employee and excellent representative of the West Bend Police Department both on and off duty," says Chief Meuler.

The award was sponsored by the West Bend Noon Rotary Club, which represents a cross-section of business and professional leaders around the world. The global network of members donates their experience, time and funds to support local projects that help people in need and promote understanding among cultures.
