SCHOLARSHIP BREAKFAST last week April 14

AWARDS HEAD TABLE

Thanks to Tod Ringenberg and his student interview committee for selecting the fine scholars awarded scholarships this morning.  Shown in the photos below from left to right are Abigail Wilkins, Noah Bevington and Madison Barnhart.  Sitting at the head table between Noah and Tod in the above photo is Bary Habrock, Assistant Superintendent of Elkhorn Public Schools who addressed our meeting and specifically the students and parents on the subject of preparation for future challenges.  Thanks to our President Roger on the left for his contributions.

NOTE FROM NEIL ON FUTURE SPEAKERS
I have a friend of mine from Manning, Iowa that just returned from South Africa on an agriculture tour that will present on May 12th.  He is also president of his local Rotary club.  On May 19th Bob Worley is bringing Ron Riggle from Elkhorn.  He will tell us about his new business that he started called Synergy Home Care.  It is a home health care company.  That should leave us with the next open date of May 26th.  I have John Fech from the extension office for June 2nd to talk to us about summer lawn and shrub maintenance. .

(Ron's supplement:  On May 5th we will have a speaker from OPPD to talk about the Elk City Generating Station - fueled by Land Fill Gas
LAST WEEKS MEETING NOTES, ETC.
President opened the meeting with introduction of guests officials including representatives from Elkhorn High schools and Douglas County West High School.

Treasurer Rita reported $6,290.94 and Secretary Ron (upon prompting by our Prez) reported on the Club Runner demonstration at the April 21st meeting.

Jim Tomanek reported on the Lunch Bunch held on Wednesday the 13th.

Tod Ringenberg introduced the students.

A bit of trivia but important to serious Rotarians and above.  The logo for Rotary International has changed, they have created a new "brand".  No longer is it the "gear" with cogs and spokes in blue and gold.  Now it is simply a Yellow Gear with the word ROTARY written to the left of the gear.  Please note the mast head of this bulletin to see the new logo.  Of course, our club official banner, which we seldom display, is obsolete. However, the Rotary suppliers will provide a new one for about $149.  The lapel pins have also changed to the new logo.
CLUB RUNNER 101
CLUB RUNNER 101
On Thursday's regular meeting, Ron will be demonstrating several features of Club Runner that can be of benefit to club members.
Items to be discussed will be logging on to the site, user name and password, site features available to members to update their profile data and to communicate with other members using the Club Runner email feature.   A cheat sheet for logging into the site will be sent in a separate email for review prior to the meeting if you have never logged on to the website before.
