SECRETARY'S NOTES
SOME THINGS THAT OTHER CLUBS DO AT THEIR MEETINGS
Suburban Club (Thursday noon) The Suburban Club which meets at Anthony's Restaurant on 72nd and F Street has a fine assessment program as does our club, however they have a "Hanging Judge" who is a "prominent" member in this permanent position who SETS THE LEVEL OF THE FINE! (We would be in perfect condition as we have our own retired Judge)
Omaha West (Friday noon) The Omaha West Club which meets at The Champion Club has vocational speeches by members, limited to three minutes. If the member exceeds 3 minutes, the Rotarians seated at the member's table all pay a dollar fine. In the vocational speech the member briefly describes themselves and their work or specialty. The person who gives a Vocational speech is assigned before the meeting by the Club Secretary (or other officer/committee chair). The West Club also has a birthday table where members having birthdays that month sit and a cake is provided. If members with birthdays don't sit at the birthday table, they are fined. (Alas, we don't use round tables for more separation)
Enough Already!
