SPEAKER OF THE DAY - JAY McARDLE
McARDLE GRADING COMPANY

Jay presented a slide show on their current project at
174th and Fort Street area, which is the grading of a
45 foot high dam for the Papio Missouri NRD site
currently named as 15A. Jay provided a site map
featuring many aspects of the new flood control lake
for water control and public recreation, including
hiking, bicycling, fishing, camping.  The lake will be
about 220 acres in size (for you ex-farmers, that
is slightly more than a third of a section, depending
on the height of the water of course.  Shown in the photo
is club member Jill Muegge and Jay McArdle, speaker.

The Lake will be on the West Papio Creek.

BUSINESS MEETING  The meeting opened following another delicious HyVee Catered breakfast.  Guest of the Speaker attending was Kevin McArdle.  Nineteen club members were in attendance, but alas, not including our brand new President,  Dr. Roger Breed who had other commitments.  Standing in for our President was the very experienced and able Jim Tomanek.  The invocation was given by our immediate past-president, Bob Worley.  Treasurer Rita reported $13,794.33 in the checking account, which reflects recently paid dues and funds collected for the golf tournament this last Monday.  Secretary Ron babbled about the Club Runner project currently under test by the club. Neil did his usually fine job of collecting fines from club members.

Very importantly, Diane Johnson reported of plans for our next DIVE NIGHT ON FRIDAY, JULY 17TH AT 6PM, to be held at Finicky Franks on Calhoun Road North of 30th and I-680.  See the separate story on the event.  She will want you to call or email your reservations to her to improve our chance to sit together at one table (and be charged a mandatory 20 percent tip for a group, rather than 14 percent as individuals - Just kidding).
