Jim Tomanek reported that the Lunch Bunch will be meeting next Wednesday, October 28th at Sam & Louie’s Pizza in Elkhorn at noon. The guest speaker will be James Thompson with Elkhorn Computer Services, James will be talking about the newest and greatest in computers plus all the problems people have been having with Windows 10.

Our speaker was Jackie Almquist, Director of Development for Metropolitan Community College.
Jackie stated that Metro is committed to preparing the workforce for today and tomorrow, they have been working on achieving this goal for 40 years. They are the second largest higher learning institution in Nebraska serving over 40,000 students each year.

They have 9 locations in a 4 county area, on November 7th at 9:00 AM they will be hosting a grand opening at their newest facility on the 2nd floor of the old Boarders Book Store on 72nd & Dodge.

A $90 million dollar capital improvement project is under construction at the Fort Omaha campus on 32nd & Sorenson Drive. The additions will include space for an Academic Skills Center, a construction center and a center for advanced & emerging technology. The project is scheduled for completion in 2017.
