  • Treasurer:  Rita reported a balance of $6,244.16Secretary:  Ron discussed the smart phone app for Club Runner.   Apparently no one has been using the app, except the Secretary who only uses it occasionally for rapid access to the club roster.
  • Lunch Bunch:  Jim reported on the lunch bunch at Shevy's where Jim Thompson from Elkhorn Computer Sales and Service was our guest speaker.    Jim Thompson will also be a future Thursday speaker.
  • Future speakers:  Ron Woener will be speaking on computer security on Sept 21st, Jon Reichmuth will be speaking about advance "planning" to the group on September 28th,  Frank Axiotes of SEI will be speaking on home security on October 5th and Mary Ann Borgeson, Douglas County Commissioner, will be speaking on October 19th. 
  • Speaker:  Our speaker of the day was Scott Peters, graduate of Elkhorn High School and now resides in Haiti after a variety of positions in carpentry, facilities management and education.    Scott is married to a Haitian native Madanm and they have two daughters.  When Scott talked to us, he described a plethora of things he is doing to help the citizens of Gonaives, Haiti.  Rather than try to repeat all he said, I would suggest you google his blog  www.scottsinhaiti.blogspot.com.  His activities include english language school, carpentry, water supply, missionary related work and a spokesman for Haiti people.
