Announcements/discussion:
- Jim Tomanek gave a short bio of his life to date.He also shared a story about a local family that recently were victims to a house fire.A father and son lost their bicycles among other things.Jim brought a bike that had been donated to give to the father. He then challenged our Rotary Club to raise funds to allow COPE to purchase a new bicycle for the boy.The hat was then passed, and the club members ponied up $230!This amount should sufficiently cover the cost of a new bicycle, as well as new helmets for the fellows.
- President Judy shared a Public Service Announcement about a scare her family recently had involving a carbon monoxide leak in a home. She encouraged all to invest in a CM detector and to have a ventilation check-up on their homes.
- There was a suggestion that the golf tournament be headed up by a committee in the future, as opposed to one individual.Mike Ough has agreed to lead the committee and enlisted the help of Roger Breed, Dave Rosacker and Julie Seidl.
- At the meeting, Julie Seidl stepped up to the call for a President-Elect for next year. The club appreciates Julie’s commitment to serve!
- Neil shook down the club for fines. Some were left destitute after this action.
