TEAMMATES PROGRAM GIVEN

Shalee Hoffman gave our club an update on the Wayne TeamMates mentoring program at our club meeting on January 11.  Tom and Nancy Osborne founded the program in 1991 to provide "support and encouragement to school aged youth."  The goal is to see youth graduate from high school and continue their education.  The program offers scholarships as well.  Shalee noted there is a special need for more male mentors at this time.  She statted all it takes is one hour a week to meet with the student in a school setting.  President Bob Ensz introduced Shalee.  Club member Craig Walling and his wife Jill are huge supporters of the program.  The Wayne Rotary Club has had a history with this type of mentoring program even before the TeamMates was organized.
