Dr. Melissa Derechailo, Vice President of the Wayne Community Theater, was our guest speaker on January 3. She has also taught at Wayne State College for 15 years. She informed us the theater began in 1939 as the Wayne Players. Club member Gary Weddel, who has actively participated in this organization, introduced Melissa.
The Wayne Community Theatre was formed to foster, promote and increase the practice, knowledge, and appreciation of the art of theatrical performing in Wayne and the surrounding areas. Some of the activities include the Missoula Children's Theater. Other projects include partnering with WSC's service Learning Program and with the Stage Players from Sioux City.
