UPDATE GIVEN ON 1912 EMPORIUM
Lucas Rix, co-owner of Rustic Treasures, talked to our Rotary club on January 4 about their new project, the 1912 Emporium. He noted this was the old City Hall. The old "auditorium" has a tin ceiling. They have done extensive remodeling, which will include a second floor office that they can use for training and interviews. The building will be a location for items for sale such as nice antique furniture. They hope to have the sales portion open in March. Lucas noted they have so far donated $6,400 back to the community through their Thrift Warehouse store. They are still hoping to have a brewery on the west side. Lucas stated they had their best ever Small Business Saturday with about 480 transactions. Members commented how appreciative we are of all the downtown traffic Lucas and Mark have attracted from a large area and thanked them for all their enthusiasm and hard work.
