POLIO PLUS PROGRAM GIVEN
Dan Rose, our Foundation Chair, and Carol Dunning, a polio survivor, told our club about Polio Plus at our club meeting on November 16. In 1979 immunization began in the Philippines. It became a global promotion in 1988. Some of the partners today include WHO, UNICEF, the Gates Foundation, and Rotary International. Dan told out club there currently are 32 known cases of Polio: Nigeria, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
