NEW HAVEN HOUSE DIRECTOR TALKS TO CLUB

Amy Munderloh, the new director at Haven House, talked to our club Dec. 28.  Haven House has 3 employees plus herself in Wayne plus 3 in South Sioux City. They started in 1978 and now cover 5 counties.  Their service is free and confidential.  They have advocates that assist with safety plans, counseling, etc.  She thanked the community for their support over the years and noted they had 5 children in the shelters over the holiday.  Last year the organization assisted 290 indi...viduals.  Their Facebook page assists in letting the public know about their needs.  They always need volunteers for items such as transportation, office work like stuffing envelopes, and assisting with the crisis line.  Funding assistance comes from the Northeast Nebraska Crime Commission and Northeast Nebraska Health & Human Services in addition to private donations.
