Club member Shelley Frevert invited Holly Wamstad to tell us about her job as a Message Therapist during our club meeting on February 21. She works with Herman Chiropractic, splitting her time in Wayne and in Pender. She has been a therapist for 7 years.
She looks at the cause of pain and assists her patients with preventative measures such as correct posture while sitting and walking and gives them stretches. For her education she had to take 1000 hours, including a lot of anatomy, plus 250 hours with patients. She had to take State Boards and also takes at least 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years. She noted every state has different requirements.
Special guests Julie Osnes and Craig Walling's daughter, Emma, gave a presentation on their school fund drive to raise money to the Red Cross for Hurricane Relief. The club voted to match their $97.93.
