FORSELL SPEAKS TO CLUB

At our regular meeting on November 9, club member Marie Janke introduced her former boss, Gretchen Forsell, who is the executive director with the Northern Nebraska Area Health Education Center. Her office serves 26 counties to improve the healthcare workforce. Nebraska is served by 5 AHECs. The federal program was established in the US in 1972 to "improve the supply, distribution, retention, and quality of primary care and other health practitioners in medically underserved areas." Gretchen and staff assist with science meets, job shadowing, summer camps, continuing ed, and online training among many other duties.
