FAIR BOARD MEMBERS SPEAK TO CLUB
On July 27, Kevin Davis, Dave Jaeger, and Trevor Hartman, members of the Wayne County Fair Board, gave the program. They told us the 15 member board works all year to put on the fair. They will be choosing the entertainment for 2017 in a month or so. They have completed a lot of new buildings on the site and hope to build a new sheep barn soon. New this year is a putt-putt golf course. 5 years ago, they hired a person to mow the grounds all year which adds to a better appearance. Corporate sponsor signs are a big hit with 35 new ones this year. Many other fairs copy the Wayne County Fair because it is so successful. They expect 2,000 to 4000 visitors each day with the demo derby the largest attraction. The larger two lane tractor pull which began last year was a good change and brings in some national talent to the event. This is the 94th year for the Wayne County Fair.
