Julie O'Hara, District Governor for District 5650 for 2018-19, visited our club on August 10-11. She is a member of the Shenandoah, Iowa, Rotary Club. Her husband, Patrick, came with her for her visits in Northeast Nebraska. Julie has a busy schedule, meeting with all the clubs in the District. She is the 5th woman District Governor for 5650.

Dan and Kyle Rose hosted our club and family at a social in their beautiful backyard on August 7. As always the potluck was delicious!

This is a great opportunity for our members to get acquainted with Julie and Pat.

Julie and Pat came prepared for the club meeting on August 8 with their legal documents.

Julie told our club about the meeting in San Diego where Rotary International President-elect Barry Rassin laid out his vision for the future of the organization, calling on leaders to work for a sustainable future and to inspire Rotarians and the community at large. Rassin, a member of the Rotary Club of East Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, unveiled the 2018-19 presidential theme, "Be the Inspiration," to incoming district governors at Rotary’s International Assembly in San Diego, California, USA. “I want you to inspire in your clubs, your Rotarians, that desire for something greater. The drive to do more, to be more, to create something that will live beyond each of us.”

Our meeting was well attended this morning. A special thanks to club member Kaki Ley for the appropriate music!

Club member Dan Rose always puts a lot of work into the District Governor's visits, including decorating the chicken.

Gifts included chicken show shirts to help the O'Haras remember Wayne.
