On April 10, our club visited the Wayne Public Library. Heather Headley, head librarian, was our host. She said the library is no longer the "shhh" place and explained why.
There are numerous children's activities with and without parental involvement, pc's to be rented for free, movies, cd's, sound books, phone apps available to use and a lot of adult activities as well along with the books both hard and soft cover with new ones arriving each month.
Her main focus for the day was the Library Innovation Studio which was loaned to the Wayne library and numerous other locations in NE by the Nebraska Library Foundation to give smaller rural towns/cities access to IT innovations. Some of what is available to see and use are robotics, embroidery sewing machine, laser cutter/etcher, heat transfer equipment, and more. It will be gone soon so try to take advantage of it through May.
