The club toured the Blue Cat Gallery & Studio located on West 3rd Street in downtown Wayne on May 21. This business opened in July of 2017 by Carolyn Albracht and her husband Wayne Briner. The two worked about two years renovating the brick building for their second story residence and ground level gallery that shows mostly local artistry.
Carolyn is an art education instructor in the Art and Design department at WSC. She is a native Nebraskan with a B.A.(art/psychology), M.A.(museum studies) and Ph. D.(educational studies). Her artistic practices involve intuitive markmaking and exploring pattern, texture, line, form and color in mixed media watercolor. She hosts workshops and provides two rooms for featured shows. Her hours are Wed. through Sat. from 10-4.
Club members were able to view various paintings, ceramic, glass, and jewelry that was displayed for sale. It is worth seeing if you missed the meeting!
