Dr. Yasuko Taoka, Dean of Arts and Humanities at Wayne State College, talked to the club on Oct. 25 about the 2018 Chautauqua, which will be held in Wayne on June 4th - 10th. The theme will be World War 1. Topics will include women in the workforce, the Spanish flu pandemic, and local ties to the war. On June 26, 1883, the first Chautauque program in Nebraska opened in Crete. Club member Vaughn Benson introduced Yasuko.
