The topic at our club meeting on November 28 was, "Irish travel log." Marion and Pat Arneson traveled by plane, train, bus and car to recently visit Northern Ireland. They went there with their daughter to attend an international 3 day symposium on Willa Cather. While there they also traveled to many cities and sites in the country. Some of the stops were in Dublin, Derry, Limavady, Kilkenny, Glendalough, Tipperary, and Cork. They showed many pictures of their stops and told us about what they saw.
Marion is on the Willa Cather Foundation Board (serving as president) which has in the past few years brought $11 Million to the town of Red Cloud, NE (his hometown) by purchasing historical sites, renovation of them and providing information and housing for visitors and literary scholars.
