ImageAt the meeting this evening, representatives of the City of Norfolk presented a program about recreation projects that are on-going or are being considered within the City.  Mayor Sue Fuchtman, City Administrator Shane Weidner, and Diane Becker shared about the plans for the permanent stage at Skyview Lake that will be erected this spring.  It will be used for Music In The Park, Christian Cross Festival, and other events throughout the summer.  Also, discussion was held on plans for extending the trails system around the City.

The next meeting will be held Tuesday noon at the Time Square Event Center.  The speaker will be Philip Herman, the Director of Outreach at the Victory Road Evangelical Free Church in Norfolk.  He will give a presentation entitled “Helping Hurting People All Around Us.”  Mr. Herman will talk briefly about some of his work with gangs, after-school tutoring/mentoring work, and summer programming work in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He will also share about his efforts in Norfolk as the result of his past work.
