ImageThe speaker at today’s meeting was Aaron Prokopec of the Columbus Noon Rotary Club.  Aaron discussed how Rotary membership dues go out to help with international projects and a significant amount is returned to the local chapter to help with local projects.  Aaron presented Paul Harris awards to Stan Christensen and former Norfolkan Kris Winter.

Discussion was held on the Fat Tuesday buffet/dance on March 4 at the Time Square Event Center.  Cost is $25 in advance and $30 at the door.  Nita and the Pipe Smokin’ Charlies, a blues/New Orleans style band, will perform.  A Canjun style buffet will be available from 6-8pm with a cash bar open from 5:30-9:30pm.  Each Rotary member will be given a packet of 8 tickets to sell for this event. Members are encouraged to solicit sponsorships for Music in the Park and complimentary tickets will be provided to sponsors.  Wednesday, February 26 is the deadline for ticket sales.

The next meeting will be held at noon on February 18 with the speaker being Shane Osborn, candidate for U.S. Senate.  Members are encouraged to bring guests to the meeting.
