Madeline Becker and Joanne Kohn spoke to the Glenwood Rotary Club on April 29th, 2021.

Madeline Becker, who comes from a long line of Rotarians, shared two of her competitive speeches with the Rotary Club. Madeline has been winning local and state speech competitions for several years, and she certainly impressed the club members with her ability to write and deliver powerful speeches. Madeline also received a Glenwood Rotary Club Scholarship this spring, and will be heading off to Iowa State in the fall to pursue a degree in Economics. 

 

Joanne Kohn spoke to the club about the Mills County Storehouse and where they stand after two back-to-back disasters: the local flood of 2019 and the global Covid pandemic. The Glenwood Rotary Club has made several donations to the Storehouse over the past few years and was glad to hear that the Storehouse has been able to support the increased needs of the community. The Storehouse accepts community donations to sell in their thrift store, the profits of which are used to partially support the food pantry.
