Glenwood Rotarians helped Glenwood Community School District honor and thank donors and supporters whose efforts helped secure the future of its refurbished childcare facility – the Lakin Foundation Child Development Center.
The three-year journey to keep Glenwood’s childcare center operational required extensive community collaboration and creative problem-solving, according to Glenwood Community School District Superintendent Nicole Kooiker also an active Rotarian.
The Lakin Foundation Child Development Center, formerly known as Kids Place, now offers a much more welcoming and functional space for children from birth to school age. Once fully staffed, the Center will serve around 200 children.
The Appreciation Dinner, held in the high school cafeteria, celebrated not only the attendees' financial achievement but also the spirit of unity that made it possible. Glenwood's success story stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration and the difference it can make in the lives of local families.
